Malamute Markings
A cap is the color which covers the top of the malamute's head and ears. The cap usually comes to a point at the center of the malamute's forehead. Kind of like a widows peak on a human
Goggles consist of dark areas under the malamutes eyes which also extend into the malamute's cap.
Markings that are under the malamute's eyes but does NOT extend into the malamute's cap.
A bar is the dark area that extends from the center point of the cap all the way down to the nose.
A full mask consists of a combination of a cap, goggles, and a bar.
A mask is a combination of a cap and goggles with NO bar.
A malamute with an open face will have NO markings on it's face other than the cap.
A star is a small white spot in the center of the malamutes forehead.
An eagle is made up of 2 bands which are dark in color that protrude across the chest, forming a pattern which resembles that of an eagle emblem. This girl is young, but you could see she has the eagle forming already!
A white colored band which encircles around the neck.
A Withers spot is a white spot that is found at the base of the malamute's neck located by the shoulder blades. Withers spots vary in sizes.
